Torus

is a "planet" (it's actually in the shape of a donut; that's why it's called Torus) that is very far away from any other celestial bodies/civilizaton. It is completely off-grid, as 1. there are no people, outside of Torians, that know Torus exists, and 2. any signal that is sent both takes too long to reasonably make contact (26 years there, 52 years round-trip), and the signal will be filled with noise or die off, and 3. Large deposits of [[Caligo]] mask the planet from detection. According to ship logs, the first inhabitants "arrived" 6,534 years ago, assuming the year is 1649, Loneosh. [[Calendar Systems]]. 7 people crash landed onto Torus. They are widely worshipped by the Torians, and the crash site is a historical monument. Some legends say they are in their hypersleep pods, waiting to be retrieved, but no one dares step past the security.

The inner ring of Torus is a hub for trading and generally contains all of the big cities. It is very mountainous in the inner ring, and they are many times larger than Mount Everest; most people live on the coast because mainly there is water there, but it is generally lower by the water, and people can actually breathe. There are flat lowlands on the outer part, except for some huge canyons.

How did the founders get there?
Beginning from Roshoa city as a research vessel, the researchers were set to arrive at Brelon within about 5 hours of their departure. The researchers detected a problem roughly two and a half hours in, it is estimated. Their ship likely had a navigation and/or engine issue and drifted off course. Its EHVs went in and out of connection was lost within three hours, and they were never seen again, except by the first generations of Torians.
