• Live their entire lives in VR, and are, among other names, called "Varners".
• Work on technology (handhelds, ships, radios, etc.) for a living, and are very resourceful, useful to have in your crew if you're journeying. They can be called "quick techs" or "wandering technicians".

A lot of people actually live in space, because of the practically unlimited real estate. Most rich people live on planets.
